My vanity table

Nov 25, 2011

Please meet my vanity-ish table! It's not always this neat, in fact, it's never this neat haha. This is technically just a bedside table from IKEA (where most of my furniture's from) but I think, for the moment, it'll work. I began storing my nail polish under the table to utilize every bit of free space in my tiny room. Where as before I used to store my nail polish on top of the table, now, I've moved it under. In that process, I've come to realize how much nail polish I actually own and how much of it is dried out or used up! I really have to go through and sort it out don't I... I really love nail polish *she says randomly and off topic* haha but it's absolutely true! I wish it didn't smell so bad though, but whatever, at least it look pretty, right?!

Anyway, I just took this picture and though it was worth sharing :)
Much love,
Yana

Cheap, Good Quality Makeup Brushes

Nov 23, 2011

haha I really hope you didn't notice that "ECOTOOLS" is reflected.. ;) darnet

Hi lovies!

I have absolutely no idea how to start this post. It seems like an easy task but I've already sat here for no less than 20 minutes trying to figure out what to say but everything I've typed so far has either been weird or super weird... Right, now I shall finally begin talking about my obsession a.k.a. makeup brushes! In particular, these two, which, at the moment, happen to be my favorites! You see, I believe that good quality brushes are just as important as good quality makeup. Also, a lot of the times you can do more with good brushes and bad makeup than you can with bad brushes and good makeup. That is not to say that good quality brushes and good quality makeup is not an option, in fact, when those come together, well, that's magic right there for ya. Anyway, back to these brushes, which btw are amazing and quite inexpensive! I'll start with the first brush I got - ECOTOOLS bronzer brush, which, really, is just a kabuki. The bristles truly do have the perfect shape and texture to make this brush perfect for bronzing. I've used it with both lose and compressed powder bronzers and I can say that it applies both perfectly! It sort of buffs whatever you're applying and creates a smooth, even texture. Did I mention it costs $10? You really can't go wrong with that, I mean come on..

The second brush is a more recent purchase but nonetheless very well loved. It's the Elf Blush Brush which I actually use for lose powder. It's the perfect shape and size for precise application of powder all over the face. In other words, it gives me more control of where and how much powder I apply. And the bristles are silky-smooth which, is alway a plus! As all Elf brushes from this line, it was $3. I should do a post on my elf brush collection because I am a true fan. At least of the professional $3 line and a few brushes from the $1 line. Just like this one, the Elf brushes that I own, especially the $3 ones, are very good quality and I am yet to have any problems with them! Knock on wood.

Evolution Of Smooth (Eos) Lip Balms

Nov 6, 2011

These Evolution Of Smooth (EOS) lip balms are a dream! They come in a variety of different colors and flavors and are made from natural, organic ingredients. You can't really go wrong with that, especially since they only cost about $3 each. As you can see the packaging, being a bit bigger and bulkier, is very different from the standard lip balm tube. It's this packaging along with a variety of fun and tasty flavors what makes these balms so cute and in a way girly. The flavors that I've tried are: Mint, Summer Fruit and Lemon. My favorite one at the moment has to be Mint but they all are very yum! These balms are still finding their way to stores like Target and Walmart and you will typically find them among other bits and bobs at the cash register. These balms are quite odd but also quite cool and are definitely worth trying out!
